Eight methods to remedy bending injection molded parts

Feb,24,2023 << Return list

The reason for the bending of the injection molded parts is that the injection molded parts are similar to the mold cavity but are distorted versions of the mold cavity shape due to the defects of the injection molded parts.

Possible causes of bending of injection molded parts:

(1) The bending of injection molded parts is due to excessive internal stress in the injection molded parts.

(2) The mold filling speed is slow, resulting in the bending of the injection parts.

(3) The plastic in the mold cavity is insufficient, resulting in the bending of the injection molding part.

(4) If the plastic temperature is too low or inconsistent, it may also be bent by injection molding.

(5) The injection part is too hot when ejecting.

(6) Insufficient cooling or inconsistent temperature of moving and fixed mold.

(7) The structure of the injection molding part is unreasonable (such as the stiffeners are concentrated on one side, but far away).

Remedial methods for bending of injection molded parts

(1) Reduce the pressure of injection molding.

(2) Reduce the time for the screw to move forward.

(3) Increase cycle time (especially cooling time). Immerse in warm water (38oc) immediately after ejecting from the mold (especially the thicker injection parts) to make the injection parts cool slowly.

(4) Increase the speed of injection molding.

(5) Increase the temperature of the plastic.

(6) Use cooling equipment to cool the bent injection parts.

(7) Properly increase the cooling time of bending injection molding parts or improve the cooling conditions to ensure that the mold temperature of moving and fixed molds is consistent as far as possible.

(8) According to the actual situation, improve the structure of bending injection molding parts if allowed.
