Precautions for long-term shutdown of injection molding machine

1、 Injection molding machine and mold protection

Before the injection molding machine stops, the mold should be opened to a distance of 5-10 mm, so that the hinge (crank) mechanism of the mold locking machine is in a semi-straight state, and the hinge (crank) mechanism of the injection molding machine is in a stress free state to better protect the mold and the mold locking mechanism.

2、 Barrel cleaning

Before shutdown, clean the plastic inside the barrel, and use one of PP, PS and PE to clean the original plastic left inside the barrel. After cleaning, loosen the screw stroke to the maximum stroke. This can prevent the screw head from burning out when the machine is turned on next time.

1. If the plastic used is HB ordinary transparent plastic and natural color plastic, you can directly empty the plastic inside the barrel without cleaning.

2. If the plastic used is colored, VO fire-resistant plastic, corrosive plastic and plastic with glass fiber must be cleaned with one of PP, PS and PE. After the cleaning is completed, the temperature of the material tube can be directly closed.

3、 Drain the mold, barrel cooler and hydraulic oil cooler

First turn off the power supply of cooling water tower, water tower outlet pump, water chiller equipment and mold heater equipment, and then do the following four drainage protection works.

1. Close the water inlet and outlet valves of the hydraulic oil cooler of the injection molding machine, remove the water inlet and outlet pipe joints, and use the air gun of the air compressor to blow out (discharge) all the residual water in the cooler to avoid rust or oxidation inside the water ring.

2. Close the water inlet and outlet valves of the cooling water ring of the barrel (material pipe), remove the water inlet and outlet pipe joints, and use the air gun of the air compressor to blow out (discharge) all the residual water inside the cooling water ring to avoid rust or oxidation inside the water ring.

3. Close the water inlet and outlet valves of the mold (male mold/female mold), remove the water inlet and outlet pipe joints, and use the air gun of the air compressor to blow out (discharge) all the residual water in the water delivery system of the mold to prevent the mold core from rusting.

4. Finally, turn off the power of the air compressor equipment and release the residual air pressure.

4、 Electrical protection of injection molding machine

Before the holiday, please confirm whether the power switch of each injection molding equipment is disconnected, whether the doors and windows are closed, and whether the workshop should take measures to prevent rats from biting the wire, and take waterproof and moisture-proof measures inside the electric box. The control box of the injection molding machine is closed to prevent mice from entering it and damaging the computer host.
